Year One: The Three Piece Tonik Mohair Dreamsuit

This was the first suit I made for REEVES under my own name in New York.
Of course it was a sample of sorts and I had to have it made for myself to iron out the kinks.

New York tailors at the time described it as fitting tight, they were still all about the American sack suit popularized by Brooks Brothers, they thought it was strange even to have darts in the front. It took a lot of management to get the look of the suit I wanted, which has become my signature suit. A three piece Tonik Mohair in midnight blue inspired by the Douglas Hayward suit worn by Michael Caine in “Get Carter”.

The Arctic Monkeys all wanted one but unfortunately I wasn’t “Bi Coastal” So I couldn’t hook them up.

If you are reading this you may be a 15 year long client by now, you probably have one of these already or a more modern variant, but if you don’t why not?
