THE LAST PILOT, DRAKES, BOSTON BESPOKE AND OTHER NEWS FROM A SHORT BUT BUSY WEEK.

LAST PILOT LOGO

HI everyone. This Fridays post was late this week because, well it was quite a week!  After the memorial weekend Tuesday was spent filling out a ton of shirt order forms from the previous week. I was also able to get some "Last Pilot" flannel shirt samples in make.

Wednesday involved lots of physical running around and a lot of production. I later met up with my good friend Michael Hill the creative director of Drakes who was in town on a wholesale trip. Michael used to work with me at Richard James before he moved on to Drakes. For those of you not familiar with the brand, Drakes is a very high end English tie maker which has moved into other areas like knitwear, hosiery and scarves.  He was talking to me about Drakes' newly minted store in London and some new products like slim fitting shirts and horn accessories.  Michael also agreed to do an interview for me and the blog which I should hopefully be posting soon. In the meantime here is a link to Drakes' very nice website:

Thursday saw me embark out of New York up to Boston to see a couple of clients through Thursday and Friday. It was my  first visit to Boston and probably wont be my last. I hope to establish a client base up there if possible and will be looking at doing regular trips for sales meetings and fittings. Since setting up the blog I have had quite a lot of enquiries about trunk shows and visits to clients outside of New York in general. I am looking into doing trunk shows in the future and am always receptive to visiting new clients out of town anywhere in the U.S.A.

In other news my Dinner suit/Tuxedo offer is drawing to a close as I only have 4 yards left of the "James Bond dinner suit cloth". Worn by Daniel Craig in QOS. Theres been a lot of interest in this custom suit. If your thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these now is the time to get in touch but if you miss out on this there are many other great cloths to make dinner suits from.

It looks like this weekend is going to be busy for me as well with lots of deliveries and final fittings going on. Roll on Monday so I can rest up a bit!

Next week I will be doing a lot of work heavily documenting the process of making a David Reeves "6000 stitches" Bespoke suit. Watch out for some truly epic posts about what is certainly the best made suit in America.
