COTTON SUIT FOR SUMMER
I recently had this cotton suit made up and I am really enjoying wearing it. The cotton is from the Dormeuil Naturals book and it has a bit of stretch to it. This jacket is half lined to make it easier to wear in the summer and the trousers are unlined. What I think is really good is that it doesn't look slouchy like a lot of cotton suits even when worn a lot. This picture was taken after I had worn it for three days and I didn't press it for the shoot. Obviously its not as clean as a wool suit but its a different kind of animal really.
I went for a more relaxed trouser with double pleats and cut them a bit longer. I also went for a turn up or cuff but made the depth 1, 3/4. 1, 1/2 is a standard cuff width and a lot of "trendier" cuff wearers are doing large 2" ones.
The suit is really comfortable and great with Jeans or separate trousers, i was wearing chocolate brown ones yesterday and it all looked very Roger Moore.
And because clothes are really dead when not worn by people.....
I have taken a couple of orders for cotton suits over the past week and Im working on a silk and linen in cream with pintripes as well as the IKB suit. Really starting to see people ordering for summer now which is nice to see. Like all custom made items though forward planning is needed a bit. Suits like this are taking 5 weeks right now so its good to start ordering these now to make the most use out of them for the summer.
Stay cool people.
